I am travelling to London using my FF points, then cruising to LAX.

I want to buy a one way ticket, LAX-SYD, via Air Pacific from a US online website.

Is this allowed? I've never bought a ticket like this before but it's the cheapest way to get home.

Any help is appreciated.

Should be 'allowed' - may not be cheap.
Full service airlines typically don't have specials on one-way, and you may find it is almost as much as a return.
Get on your favourite US travel website and search.

Other option may be this:
My last SYD-LAX one-way was JQ (who prices all fares one-way) to HNL, then an AA reward tix - LAX

If its for travel over Xmas/NY, AirNZ is selling SFO or LA to Auckland at 20% off all cabins. Don't know if its one way or a bargain tho. Don't know if its for US residents only either, but you can but look.

I routinely book one way LAX-SYD on the NZ USA website.... it isn't a problem...

I just checked on XP.com.au for a random date next year...

NZ was 5 bucks more than FJ for a one way LAX-SYD (AUD$840 vs $835... and that was an NZ 744 flight from LAX-AKL...*

I know who I'd choose if that relativity applies to your planned dates!

* If you were not already aware of it..the NZ 744 is generally thought better than the 772 for Y travel...;)

V Australia are also offering well priced one - way fares on that particular route.

There is nothing illegal about it but you may have an issue with the site if you are trying to use a non US credit card to pay for it

Have a look at "Jetabroad". The site will book anywhere to anywhere and the price is in $A.

I had no trouble purchasing online two return fares LAX-AKL-MEL vv - Cost/Charged USD1,775 & charged to Oz Amex $1,975.

(I have since upgraded us for the LAX-AKL segment to Business using AirNZ Airpoint$.)
