Butter matters [Danish Lurpak on board]

It would need to be a strong vine, indeed, to hold a full round of English Cheddar! Heaven help the pickers.

We'd need to check with the boffins at Qantas, but I suspect they are like pumpkins, and the vine is a earthbound creeper.

Obviously they wash the dirt off the waxy skin, before they label them and sell them in the shops...

What does slightly salted mean? It's either salted or it's not salted.

I think you are talking about pregnancy, many things can be slightly, slightly drunk, slightly stupid, slightly wet, black and white views of the world may be simple but in my opinion they are also usually simplistic.

Slightly is probably a bit like "lite", neither have a technical definition.

I am now even more glad that I never partake of 'bakery' on any flights - it just raises too much emotion (when I was naively thinking it was merely cholesterol and blood pressure).

Shock Horror..... Jetstar International serves, Australian butter, not Danish "lurpak".

So on my flight home last night JQ24 ( Tokyo/Narita > Melbourne)..... I couldn't happen to notice whilst half way through chowing down my meal on the tray besides the bread roll that Australian Butter is served on JQi flights. I was pleasantly shocked at this discovery.

Is this an "enhancement" I ask?

I'll pass this onto our members to "chew the fat" on this new discovery.

good!

Spirit of Australia should showcase Aussie products where they are available! :)

(yes yes I know they're technically two different companies... :))

I read yesterday (June's in-flight magazine I think) that Ballantynes was now QF's preferred brand.
The accompanying photo showed it to by a spreadable blend with vegetable oil though, rather than real butter.

Farmers in this country are struggling.

Qantas should only use local butter and produce., at least when departing from Australia.

I have noticed that Lurpak stuff in the lounge as well. Apalling!

We should all support local manufacturing in our own country.

In spite of my previous comment, so do I.
However it doesn't change my opinion of French butter ( and the NZ ) softened butter as being superior in taste .

Hardly appalling.

Should we support our local bubbles producers over French bubbles producers? Is the argument not the same...
