Butter matters [Danish Lurpak on board]

Have had nothing but the Ballantyne grease for the last 3 weeks of east coast commuting... It's no Lurpak (or salted butter at all, to be honest).

Between penny-pinching on in-flight meals and the vile slop marked 'Vegetable Korma' at the SYD J lounge, is there anything domestic J offers other than SC??

I once named a pet dairy cow Flora - I was naive in respect to the notion that butter matters (she was a Jersey as well).

Oh you know a bit about cows - still mystified by the Holsteins reference - they were are will always be Fresians regardless of attempts by self interest groups to 'upsell' or 'rebrand'.

OT but how exactly does one "grow" salt?

Pepe Saya is a premium Australian butter producer and his butter is hand-churned using the best local ingredients - milk, filtered water and a dash of home grown Aussie salt.

You put salt water into shallow ponds and let the sun do its job, once dry you harvest. There is a massive salt farm just outside of Rocky thats visible for anyone heading up north to FNQ from Brisbane.

Had Ballantyne's on BKK-SYD (J) a couple of weeks back; I actually thought about this thread as I was being served my bread roll and wondered if I'd be getting Lurpak. I actually like Lurpak, so was rather disappointed to *not* have it.

Having said that though, the Australian replacement wasn't bad - guess it's all personal preference.

Apparently Cows that have names actually produce more milk, IIRC.

Is it butter? Or some butter canola mix? If you want (soft) Butter then you need to buy NZ mainland.
The canola / butter hybrid is rubbish.
