Do any of you use specialist travel agents/booking services to book long haul business class fares (e.g. East coast AUS to Europe) - if so, what has your experience been of the service?

I had a pretty good experience using a service to redeem a Oneworld award ticket, but have not tried a similar strategy for paid for flights in the past.

Interested to hear people's thoughts...

A friend of mine (at my suggestion) used @madrooster to book a quite complicated return trip to Europe - he actually glued together a combination of award and paid sectors - doing all the work - we were both very impressed. He also seems to be available (online or mobile) 7 days a week and it seemed late into the evening.

I’ve used a TA for all my international travel for over 10 years and it’s been an excellent experience. Starting out, before a TA gets to know you, you have to be very precise in what you ask to be priced eg time of day for flights, types of airlines, alliances etc.

Most agents are not ‘frequent flyer’ savvy though, the ‘rooster here being an exception.
