Hello,

I have been doing multiple business class trips per year to the US and Europe, mostly on Qantas but also have booked Emirates directly. I'm trying to get an understanding of how their pricing cycles work and when the best time to buy tickets in advance is. I often know up to 6-8 months in advance about future trips. I was able to buy these tickets below/around $7k for most of my trips last year but they'll be 10K at other times, as they are now.

I'd love to hear from anyone that has suggestions about when the best times usually are for purchasing business tickets on these airlines. I'll be looking at business on Qantas from Syd-LAX in Feb, May and October and Qantas or Emirates to Europe in June.

Thanks.

If you travel regularly you're better off buying your tickets originating in Europe/USA as the pricing is much more competitive in those markets. Start off with a cheap one-way and from then on do all your trips as Europe/USA - Aust return.

If it's a regular requirement then you are well placed to pickup some good DONE4 RTW fares.

If you want to amass SC to get to P1, rather than book with EK flight number, book with QF, having an QF flight number, and if you like to fly EK metal, thats ok, the important thing is to have a QF flight number.
Of course, if its to city where there is no way to get a QF flight number, then fly EK.
I always make sure I fly with a QF flight number on EK metal, especially going TT to CHC.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
