OK, I have given up trying to get a QFF business Classic Reward Seat, Melb to London b/w now and June (or anytime really 🙄). Sooo have decided to pay. Be grateful for hints/insights on any decent business fares on decent airlines from Melbourne (or Sth East Asia) to London (or central Europe)?
'Inspire me' please, frequentflyers, I've lost my mojo!

Appears Sri Lankan is the cheapest, at just over 5K return in May.

Timings are terrible (you'd have to get a hotel in CMB both ways) but at least they're oneworld so there's QF points and status recognition. I imagine the food is good!

Google Flights is a good way to find the cheap fares.

Depending on your appetite, there are often decent business class fares out of CGK. It obviously adds another leg and therefore time

I also like looking at Kayak with +/- 3 day searches. Broaden search as much as possible But most here seem to prefer google flights.

Beauty of Google flights is you can have multiple origin points and multiple destination points to check.

Terrible timings on Sri Lankan, but by the time you take out the carrier fees associated with an award these days… well over $1000, it makes $5000 paid seem quite reasonable.

The AY fare ex BKK is great, but it adds another $1000 or more just to get to bangkok, in economy.

Aeroplan continues to be a standout, roughly $4400 return to Europe in business class. Worth it to buy miles during the next sale.
