Brisbane to Perth

Agree that's probably your best bet. There's a newer quest, aloft, along with more budget options along that road too. Probably 10-15 to the qantas terminal, traffic dependent.
Thanks for your help. Probably just need a hotel/motel as near as possible to the airport for a bed and a meal. The flight gets in early evening and next day flight is 9 am.

I'm in a similar situation, with a MEL-PER flight in early May. I got switched to a flight which now does not show up as bookable, but I don't think that's the same as does not exist. Could be just that it's full. Certainly all a bit strange though. I was also looking at PER-MEL flights in early May. When I began monitoring I think there were 4 or 5 direct QF flights showing on my preferred date. Now there are none. Others have suggested QF might be planning for crew shortages.
When was/is your flight?
Hi everyone! First post here...

Similar situation has occurred with me!

I had a return J class booking for 12-18 April PER-MEL (QF780) and MEL-PER (QF775). Both flights were booked a few months back, then I noticed I was downgraded from A330's to B737's on both flights (a mild annoyance, but I can deal with the downgrade).

Despite this, the outbound flight to MEL (QF780) wasn't even existing as of today when attempting to do a dummy booking online, and the inbound flight (QF775) was still able to be booked as an A330, despite my seat selection map showing me it was a 737!

Long story short - I needed to change the dates on my bookings. Attempted online - Nope! Dreaded list of Qantas error codes with my only hope to call the call center. 3 x calls waiting over 2 hours each time and still not getting through left me super frustrated with Qantas! I have simply cancelled the existing booking now and just re-booked on the QF770 flight on 12 April (which currently says is an A330) and my return on the 30th of April has to route through Adelaide (because there is no direct J class availability - wtf!?)

Glad to hear I'm not the only one wondering what is going on!

Can someone check QF782 April 25th (PER to MEL)?

I just got switched to this flight from a different flight (QF784) since QF784 got cancelled, but it looks like QF782 isn't currently bookable.... I hope Qantas hasn't cancelled (or has zeroed out preparing to cancel) this flight too, because I can't seem to book it online...

Here you go. There's a couple zeroed.

Thanks. This isn't great news as I was planning to spend the whole day in Perth, which is not really possible when my only flight option is at 4:10pm (or 1:05pm if I want an A330). Also no award space on those two flights so if they do rebook me I suspect I might have to call up and try to get them to open up space for me (I'm booked on a Business Classic Award))

Not sure why Qantas would cancel my flight, then rebook me onto a flight that they would proceed to zero out the next day... sigh.

Yeah, I have the same woes. I posted in a different thread about these. Got rebooked onto a flight, then that flight got zeroed out. Now expecting them to cancel it and upend my plans in Perth once again.

Getting a little off topic, I suppose, but FWIW, in light of all these shenanigans and weirdness, I went to Virgin for my PER-MEL flight. Got a confirmed upgrade to J ticket for the very appealing price of $460 (flex Y) + 9,900 points. IMO, if you're looking at QF J on a 737 then VA J is pretty much its equal (some would say better).

JohnM. Please could you help me decide which is the best/most convenient hotel at Perth airport for an overnight stop. I may have to do this with the new schedules BNE to BME.

Thanks.
July 2021 I booked Sanno Marracoonda Airport Hotel through QF hotels for a very early morning departure
As close to the airport as you can get I think.

Airport van spot on room clean but basic. Did not try the food.
Enjoy the wandering

Yep and likely on a much younger 737-800 to!

There is the Ibis Budget, the ratings on TripAdvisor says its bad, (edit) or "horrible" but its similar to the Ibis Budget Melbourne Airport, you might need an Uber, as its not that walkable from Perth Airport.
Maybe the bus might be ok, but you will need Smartrider for that.
Maybe if you just need a place to sit on a chair, with a cubicle and a loo, and for cheap, the Ibis Budget is the one, horrible ratings 2nd consideration.

Looks like they have put on lots of extra flights, the date i was looking at for MEL-PER has gone from 1 daily to 6 daily.....but with fares at a higher starting price and no rewards seats in any class on any on those 6 flights!

Yeah, noticed the same thing this morning. Currently on hold to get switched back to my preferred flight, but gonna have to HUCA - gotta go to lunch.

Sadly I can't switch back myself even if the flights are available, since after the recent automated changes to my booking, my booking is stuck in "Pending" and hasn't been reticketed.

Thanks for your recommendation. Will check it out.
Did you book something? There is a Comfort Inn quite nearby on Great Eastern Highway that FIFO use. I have had dinner there at the “Firehouse” restaurant (former fire station) quite often and always very good. They have an airport shuttle.

I'm guessing you are departing from T3/T4? If so a hotel along Great Eastern Highway that is served by the 40/935 buses will be a good option. The buses to T3/T4 are fairly frequent but you can always check the times on Google Maps/Transperth website/app
