I have an early flight from BNE on EK in a few weeks and am flying in from my home city the night before.

The obvious choice of hotel is the Novotel - but I am loath to spend my money in that hotel chain, so can anyone offer other suggestions with easy access to and from the airport?

TIA

The city is only 15 minutes from the airport - lots of hotels there.

Hotel Jen (part of Shangri-la hotels) just above Roma station or Meriton Herschel St.

Motels in Hamilton, Ascot not far from airport.

Getting to/from city will cost a minimum of $35 if airtrain is available. Taxi to/from Hamilton could also cost the same as it's still a fair distance.

Ibis hotel on Nudgee road is as close as your going to get (ex novotel) I think they have rooms for like $99

Emporium Hotel at Newstead is a stunning boutique hotel only 5 min from Kingsford Smith Drive

Sofitel is above Airtrain at Central Station

I was trying to avoid the city, mind you, there's a tunnel now that cuts the journey time... Is Uber active really early in BNE? X or black, I don't care... TIA

In my experience yes. I used to live in South Brisbane near the Go between bridge and found there were uber x cars around at 4am 7 days a week. It would take under 20 minutes from Manning St to the domestic terminal.

The Pink use to offer very cheap accommodation - might pay to ask - it is also a nice place to get a good cheap meal and otherwise be entertained - http://www.thepink.com.au/home.html

You have the Colonial Village - https://www.colonialvillage.com.au/ - this is a $18-22 trip to airport with Uber and happens to be a 3 minute walk from my home.

Yes Uber is an option and many are active at a time to go and catch Ek434. Or are you on the new timed EK433?

Do they still do topless waitresses on a Friday lunchtime?! Always been well regarded as the local dive bar of the industrial estate in our office...

If you are just looking for somewhere cheap to lay your head close to the airport Pegasus motor inn is fine for a motel and quest serviced apartments are OK as well. Quest is a little closer to racecourse road bars and restaurants if needed, but Pegasus is only 10 minute walk. Both would be 5-10 min uber.

Otherwise it's the ibis, which I think is the old hotel formula1?

YES!!! My last visit was for lunch on a Saturday 9 months ago, walked in and had headlights in my face offering raffle tickets. My office use to be 2 mins down the road from the Pink.... moved it further north 2 years ag
