I am a new member and would be keen to join you guys at the Tower Mill.

As with any statistic it depends which metric you use (passengers, number of flights, etc), what your sample data set is (timeframe, source), how old your data is, whether you are measuring a city pair or exact airport codes (e.g. LON <> LHR)... I could go on :p

Wikipedia would appear to agree with you:

World's busiest passenger air routes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

You are correct regarding the metrics etc. and the dates of the data, and I imagine the Very Fast Train (or whatever it is called) between MAD and BCN has taken away from the air traffic, but I just couldn't see LHR-DUB getting close, based on figures from a couple of years ago. But I'll stand corrected if it has. :)

Might be able to make this one. State of Origin is going to make the whole night a bit mad in terms of transport (keeping in mind I work at St Lucia - Coro Drive *ouch*. Hopefully the busway will not be packed to the gills.)

The state of origin is actually in Melbourne this week so traffic shouldn't be any worse than normal.

I will try and come for a drink but can't stay for the trivia. Will be good to catch up.

Whoops... silly me - why do I keep naively assuming the first one is in QLD?

Still, I think people will be out to watch the game, so traffic will still be quite gradual to busy.

Anyway... still on the ropes on attendance.

Sorry guys, out on two counts. If I wasn't in MAD this week, I'd be at home watching State of Origin.

I have added back some trivia to the night.

20 Questions aviation related of course, based on a little quiz that I was part of last week.

Will be interesting to see how tough the questions are; and its pre-run to Ozfest in Canberra.

Now to round up a few pens(cheap disposable ones.

Doesn’t matter where you are, QLD will still win :p

I should make it to drinks so long as it’s not bucketing down (if it is I might be a late cancellation as cold and wet doesn’t sit well with me), of course after I drop off some Maroon jerseys at Andrew’s house! :p

Go Qld. Love to be there but tonight is Origin 1 and have a few friends coming over to watch the game.

I carry 3 pens with me, but I'd like them back at the end of the night, please. :)

Question for next trivia night: How many pens were not returned to anat0l? A) 3. B) 3. C) 3. ;)

Oh, and go coughroaches! With no particular allegiance I'm with the underdog (or under-roach, as the case may be) :)

Righto, I'm on my way. I may not be able to stay for the whole of trivia (or any) - work to do tonight :(

Im about 10 mins away. See you soon.

A small crowd for Brisbane AFF gathering.

In attendance were:

Mal
samh004
Taezar
anat0l
Bundy Bear

And I held a little quiz, and out of 20 questions anat0l won with 13 correct answers.

I seem to remember a little quiz that was held almost 1 year ago and anat0l won that competition as well.

At least Queensland won the state of origin match.
