Do they match prices with other websites? I can currently get a hotel im looking at in Canberra for $50 cheaper through webjet would qantas match that or do they only match flights? Id get a total of 1608 FF points for the booking through qantas. Or 243 flybuys points through webjet.

Thankyou for that but looks like they wont match it as the $50 saving is via a coupon discount webjet are offering

I rarely find other hotel booking websites with cheaper rates than what the Qantas website offers. If they are cheaper it is not by much and tend to be on "no change or cancellation allowed" basis (i.e. use it or lose it).

With Qantas hotel bookings, the cancellation allowed up to 24 hours before check-in bookings are common and are priced not much more than the use it or lose it options.

My experience does not match yours. I find the hotel websites are often cheaper and not all the QF hotels offer FF points so I book elsewhere a lot of the time. I usually do cast my eye over the prices although there were some issues at one stage with bookings not actually confirmed. Think there was a thread here about it.

Be very very careful with best rate guarantee or price promise on hotels. Some people are good at it. The majority fail.

Personally I think it's there as a poor publicity stunt and I know for a fact they are not always cheaper.

I have used Qantas Price Promise before successfully, but it took months to actually get the points.

Be very careful with Qantas' price promise as they will reject your claim if something is even slightly against the (many) T&Cs.
