So we are looking at booking 2x flight from ATH to TLV on ElAl, only 56000 points return in Y (no J redemptions) for the both of us.

Question is, as OW Emerald and QF Pub members, booking ElAl through QF redemption, will we be entitled to use priority queues and lounge in TLV and ATH. Both airports have hideous queues and terminal space.

If not, it may be a waste of points?

Thoughts?

Although El Al is a QFF partner, I don't believe you would get any reciprocal status benefits when flying with them due to your QF status. El Al is not in oneworld, and I'm not aware of any other special arrangements in place for status customers.

Understood, however it appears strange that both loyalty clubs earn points on each other's metal but wouldn't be entitled to lounge access?

No lounge access flying LY as OWE.
Only way to get in is via ProrityPass.

Not really. There's just different levels of partners.

Unlikely to be much strategic benefit for QF providing lounge access in such circumstances.

It's a commercial arrangement designed for the benefit of ElAl and Qantas. Not us, the passengers. Each airline wants to stitch up connecting traffic, and they do that through allowing points earn. But unfortunately that's where it stops in the case of the LY/QF deal.
