I have an Open Jaw flight booked CBR-YUL, SJC-CBR, and decided to arrange internal flights under my own steam.
I've seen on Skyscanner internal flights in America flying Qantas (combined with BA) using American metal. I am curious if the baggage benefits of flying Qantas follow through? (ie free bags). The alternative is flying SouthWest or American.

I've flown "Etihad" from Darwin to Canberra in the past, and got free bags, a drink of wine, and a meal which Virgin didn't have at the time. Challenge was I was missed out for free accommodation in Sydney when the connection failed, and I spent ages trying to get Virgin to find me place. Just curious as to what people's thoughts were.

Unless the ticket is connected to the international ticket (which it won’t be if you’re now booking it separately), then there will be no included baggage in Economy, other than anything you’re entitled to with your status. I’m surprised you’re even able to book the codeshare as a standalone domestic.

You can only book a Qantas codeshare on AA when combining with an international ticket, as ftm says. If you fly 'pure' AA, and you have Qantas status, and its in the reservation, then your Qantas baggage allowance should follow.

I don't understand the 'combined with BA' part.

I know - two flights. Qantas and BA to get from BWI to ABQ.
