Booking class and making changes/paying to "upgrade" Free Amex CC flight

Hi all

I tried to search for my old thread on this but I just wanted to check whether the free Amex CC flight still books into O -is this still the case?

Also who do I call to make the flight both upgradeable and better earning?

I am going to use my 2009/2010 flight (CC year runs to end August) for a work flight and they have agreed to pay to make the flight variable.

Not sure if I will upgrade but it would be good to sneak an extra few SCs.

I haven't used mine this year, but late last year it was still booking into O.

It has been said that when you book the ticket you can request when booking (and co-pay) to have it booked into a higher class, but likewise I haven't tried this.

It is best to book into the S or V or other flex class at the time of booking.

You have to contact Amex travel to book in any case. You simply ask to be booked in the higher class and pay any fare difference.

Note this difference may be higher during sales if the cost of O class is reduced.

I redeemed my free flight in April and they booked into O.
