Booking a QF codeshare flight domestic USA

Hi Travellers,
Does anyone know if it's possible to book an American Airlines domestic flight as the QF codeshare?
I've already booked Canberra to LAX via Sydney, but now need to travel to Las Vegas when i arrive.
I'm wanting it to have a QF flight number so i can access the Qantas Business Class Lounge as i have a 5 hour wait.
If i can't and it has to be an. AA flight, is there any lounge i can access with Qantas Club.

If you had booked the LAX-LAS flight at the time of the others, then you would have been able to use the codeshare (and probably not paid for the sector, only the taxes because of the way the fares are built).

Now that you have that flight booked, as a standalone flight, you will only be able to use the AA flight number as you need a preceding QF flight number on the same ticket to use the QF flight number.

You could reissue your longhaul flight to include the domestic flight, and then you could use the QF codeshare, but you'll be up for the Qantas change penalty and any fare difference.

From anecdotal experience, an AA flight number will also get an Qantas Club member access to an Admiral's Club before the flight. This, despite what you may read.

Note I am not aware of any realistic paid lounge options at LAX. Priority Pass may get access to a lounge at TBIT at restricted times.

Thanks for confirming that about the Admiral's Club. It's better than nothing. Hopefully i can still access a shower there whilst i'm waiting for my next flight.

Partner lounges

When travelling with American Airlines, as a Qantas Club member you and a guest are welcome at American Airlines Admirals Club lounges. Simply present your Qantas Club card together with your boarding pass at the lounge reception. Both you and your guest need to be travelling together further that day on a flight marketed5 and operated by the partner airline whose lounge you wish to visit.

100% confirm... Qantas Club membership = lounge access to AAdmirals Clubs prior to AA coded flights. For all intents and purposes QF club membership = AAdmirals Club membership.

If your flight from Australia to USA is in business class, by virture of OneWorld lounge access, you'd also have access to Flagship lounges in LAX before your connecting flight to LAS. Even if separate ticket. Just show your inbound business class boarding pass at the lounge entrance together with the boarding pass for LAS (or any other AA destination).

Unfortunately my inbound flight is Economy.
But good to know at least i'll be able to use the AAdmirals Club with Qantas Club membership.
