I booked two return tickets on SilkAir. At the final confirmation screen, got a message saying there's an error and that payment has not been taken. I paid for the whole booking using VA points including taxes and those points have been deducted from my account.

I didn't receive any itinerary from VA, but when I logged into my Velocity account, I was able to email myself the itinerary, but on it, it says the booking is on hold. On the SQ side, I logged in using the SQ reference. It says the booking is confirmed, but not ticketed.

Has anyone experienced this before? And if so, how long before the booking will get ticketed?

I would ring either/both VA and SIN and ask them what it means. It could be just a timing thing but I would suggest that a quick phone call will sort it out hopefully.

Are you able to say the flight and date?

It could be that you just missed out and someone else has already got in and ticketed just before you. Does a search on either the VA or SQ website show those flights. Searching the SQ website will answer that question if the flights now display as a saver category with a waitlist.

Called VA this morning. They said it's a common technical glitch.

Now I've got the second problem. Got e-tickets issued, but they don't appear on SQ booking on SQ website. See my other thread.

Maybe in the process you've got a new SQ booking reference?

On the VA e-ticket they should a partner reference - has this changed?

Everything stayed the same, both VA PNR and SQ/MI PNR...

Going to give VA another call.

Not quite the same but once I did a flight from Perth - HKG return many years ago, the routing was Perth - Darwin on Virgin, Darwin - Singapore on SilkAir, Singapore - Hong Kong on Singapore Airlines, coming back was Hong Kong - Singapore - Perth on Singapore Airlines.
The routing seemed crazy but the timing was actually perfect and I had seen the cheap fare on various sites and it wouldn't transact. I then tried on the Virgin Website and after payment it came up with an error stating no payment has been taken.
However, I received the itinerary via email and payment had been taken and showed in my Velocity Bookings. Did all the relevant calling for seat selection and was all fine.

Latest update. Just called VA. The person has raised a report to support. Basically she said SQ has to fix it at their end. Turnaround time 3 to 5 days...

What if this happens to the average traveller? Made a booking on VA thinking it's all ok because they have the PNR.

Glad that I checked on the SQ/MI booking.

Good that it worked out fine for you.

I had similar problems with late last year booking using velocity points for Darwin to Europe.
I called Velocity and Kris a few times using respective PNRs
I sent emails to Velocity.

Asked Velocity to escalate.

I kept monitoring Singapore airlines app and Virgin app.

Finally showed up on Singapore as ticketed and I was able to select seats.

A while later it showed on Virgin.
I finally got an email response from velocity some weeks later advising confirmation.

My flights are in August so I am hoping all goes ok.
Flights are still looking correct on both websites.

I suggest you phone and/or email both to make sure.

Good luck

Thanks. My flights are 8 months away, but I want to sort this out ASAP. Can't believe it's so difficult.
