Provided you can see the award you want to book online, you can top up your account with the necessary missing miles during the booking process.

yes, you can create the booking and put it on a five day hold.

You can then purchase points - the normally come though pretty quickly, but at worst within 24 hours.

Once done you can complete (pay for) the booking online.

All must be done within the hold time.
