I actually like this bit. I liked that function when Virgin America was around, when we flew those long trans con flights, the ability to order whatever you want, when you want, by using the screen in front of you. So I assume Bonza will have Wifi onboard then?

The app will also be the only way to order food on-board, with no trolleys and cabin crew assigned seat rows to look after during each flight.

Didn't work very well with AirNZ and their original Seats2suit implementation.

Such was supposed to be available after take off until preparations for landing. Crew found it an inconvenience so generally kept it turned off.the entire flight.

Self ordering definitely isn’t a crew favourite. You could tell the VX crew got annoyed everyone someone ordered a cup of water or Diet Coke etc. Sometimes you needed to wait a bit also as they were on a break or couldn’t be bothered.

However the crew here don’t have carts at all which is new.

This is what interests me as well. I think they're stretching it to imagine that routes like Mildura/Coffs/Albury/Port Mac to MCY will fill a 737 twice a week.
I don't want to be one of 'those' guys but VA did try 737s out of Port Mac about 7 or 8 years ago shortly after the runway was upgraded to accept the heavier weight. It didn't go so well as they couldn't get bums on seats even at $99 to Melbourne. We get over a million visitors each year - in what feels like about 1.1 million SUVs, 4x4s and RVs - not your typical air travellers because they have too many toys.

I can't see myself using them because the routes aren't of value to me.

Nevertheless, I wish Bonza well and will watch with interest how it goes.

Bonza idea for FlyDrive packages…
