Just received this targeted offer.

As an exclusive offer, you have the chance to boost your Status Credit balance simply by transferring your existing credit or charge card points to your Velocity Account.

Transfer the equivalent of 75,000 Velocity Points or more from one of the participating partners below by 30 June 2014 and you’ll receive 200 Status Credits*.

A boost in Status Credits could help you maintain your Gold membership or bring you closer to Platinum membership, where you can enjoy additional benefits such as four complimentary domestic fare upgrades to business class and complimentary membership in to the equivalent tiers of our hotel and car hire partners^.

I dont have any points to transfer for this offer and wonder how many others got it and whether the values are different to each member??

Mine is for 300 status credits for 100,000 points.
I wonder why the difference. I certainly don't need the extra, well over my requirements for maintaining platinum this year.

Transfer the equivalent of 100,000 Velocity Points or more from one of the participating partners below by 30 June 2014 and you’ll receive 300 Status Credits*.

Its a pretty expensive way to earn status credits. Given the earn rate on my amex would be cheaper to actually fly.
Just re-read the offer. Completely miss understood thought it was in exchange! It is just a bonus.

What exactly is the cost if you are going to transfer points anyway? Even if you're not.. I don't see a cost..

I got the 300/100,000 offer. I'm plat with requal date looming and very little chance of retaining (although this would have made it worth the push, I just don't have the card to take advantage!)

Looks like a good offer if you plan to use those Velocity points.

I did not receive the offer but it would be useless to me as I am ~50 SCs short of Gold with a year end of early September.

Amex is offering 80,000 points if you sign up for a platinum card. Not sure if the timings would work though.

Great suggestion, thanks rioter, but unfortunately I have the velocity Amex so not eligible for that one (new customers only).

You will still probably receive the bonus points. IME AMEX does not enforce the "new customer" policy. I have applied for cards of the same family (e.g. holding Velocity Plat and applying for Velocity gold to get bonus points) and still received bonuses. I would apply anyway

My +1 got the 125 for 50,000 and he's Silver.
Not much use as he will just retain silver this year.

Another one for 50k points giving 125 SC...and a Silver here as well.

Not much interest to me as I (a) don't have the points to make the transfer, and (b) not interested in transferring that many points to Velocity anyway. So, the offer will lapse for me.
