I am glad Qantas handled the delay well, and I am glad you are happy to continue flying QF. I used to be a Qantasophile, but that opinion is starting to change (for me and many others).

The summary of the real value of the flight voucher was meant to be tounge in cheek, I am sure I will be corrected if any of the statements I made were untrue.

This year alone I have flown QF J & Y, INT & DOM (mainly Y), MH J & Y, SQ, CX, KA, PX, ZG (Viva Macau), DJ & JQ, (plus in recent years TG, BA, VS & 5J) so I feel I am in a reasonable position to make a judgement on the quality/service levels of an airline. If you only fly QF (and if you are only flying DOM J you have no choice) then I am sure you will enjoy your experience as you have nothing to compare it to (apart from a couple of AN flights 10 years ago). When you start to compare the value and level of service provided by QF versus other airlines, and watch as the service and value disappears before your eyes, you do start to question why you should continue giving them your loyalty.

To paraphrase Mr Rudd, "Am I a Qantasophile, yes I am".
People might get arrested for reading this thread. Posts about being a "Qantasophile" and links to graphic photos of naked jets...

less the QF telephone booking fee
less the newly increased credit card fee
less the difference between the cheapest flight online and the flight you can book over the phone
less the % of passangers that wont use the voucher before the 6 month expiry

Equals: the real cost to QF about $1.50
Actually that is not quite right. I had a $100 voucher, IFE issues, last year which I used towards the cost of a one-way flight to Auckland. It is very easy to use, just call the Qantas travel centre to make the booking and state your intentions of using the voucher. No booking fee, got the cheapest flight available to AKL and was not charged a credit card fee.

For those that receive a voucher and do not use it before it expires, well that is their problem.

Like I said, just meant to be a tounge in cheek dig at QF, who are in my bad books at the moment, but that is for another thread.
