Thanks for the link. The thing with widening runways and taxiways is that you want tarmac underneath the outboard engines so as to minimise objects being blown up from unsealed areas under the jet exhausts.

Taxiway re-alignment would likely be to cater for two A380s passing wingtip to wingtip.

Strengthening runways and taxiways isn't much of an issue, as the aircraft weight is spread over a greater number of wheels, but for bridges the entire weight has to be carried by the structure. I'd forgotten about the bridge, to be honest.

The A380 falls under the ICAO rules (annex 14) in terms of Airport design as a Code F aircraft, the first of its kind, and as such there are a lot of changes required by airports to accommodate A380 operations while the 747-8 is the second aircraft to fall under Cat F owing to its wingspan, it also requires some changes however there are moves for dispensations from these changes, things like ILS clearance and overrun areas are significant when you have width limited runways such as those on reclaimed land ie RWY34L & R at SYD:

Not really, other than for SYD-EZE. Even the SYD-DFW flight is comfortably within 207 minute ETOPS range. I have no trouble boarding a big twin for a 15+ hour flight, and neither should anyone else.

The 747-8i will join the A380 in the niche-aircraft sector, and big twins will remain the long-haul mainstays. I'm surprised that Boeing even bothered with the -8i. They would have done better to concentrate on a 737 replacement to wipe the floor with the A320 family.

There will come a day when they have to decide what is going to replace the ER's. Who knows what that will be.
 
I think that it looks amazing. I like the extended upper deck. Not sure about the new colours.

Hopefully more airlines will purchase it (if not mistaken, I think its only LH & KE so far) ...
