Just heard on Facebook that as of now there's only 29 seats left on this!!!
That's a pretty good effort in just over 24 hours.
Get in quick folks, this is going to be an unmissable event :D

Thanks for your reminder Princess Fiona.

Now booked on QF1360 & QF1361!

It should be a great day.

I am going, my partner was reluctant to leave our dog home alone so he's staying but a friend of mine (another crazy aviation enthusiast) is going too.
Very much looking forward to it, I have never been to Longreach and would love to look at the museum

Phew... booked just in time!

Looking forward to meeting some of the lovely people from here ;)

So 30 hours after it went on sale, it is sold out. Surely that response has gone beyond expectations..........an incredible response.

Really looking forward to the flight and the whole day.......countdown is ON!

Not to detract from the very worthy cause of the flight... but while you'll almost certainly enjoy the Qantas Founders Outback Museum, it tends to require far longer than the time we'll be in town. For example, experiencing the wing walks on the 747 and 707 is something really special I doubt will be experienced on this trip (due to the length of time it takes), but perhaps the advantage here is that it'll whet the appetite to visit Longreach (and other communities) more, providing additional injections into their economy in the future ;)

I know since my first visit in 2010 I haven't stopped going back every year... though perhaps I'm a special case :p

Edit: By the way, I think there may be just 1 seat left, as searching for 2 yields an error!!

yeah sadly once I realised I could fit it in.. she all gone. I'm a bit envious it will be a special event and worthy cause.

well done to all involved and those AFFers who will be going :)

Would have loved to do this, but flights and accommodation already booked for the Clare wine tour, and as we are flying to ADL on the Friday made it too difficult. Hopefully there will be another event sometime in the near future.

Would love to attend, but the cost (including return BNE/SYD/BNE flights) put it out of my reach. I'm sure those who attend will enjoy themselves

+1. After nabbing a $519 SIN sale it was just out of reach.

Hello, i am so excited to be coming along on this day and to finally get to see the Longreach Founders Museum. Do we know what the schedule will be like on the day and if it would be possible to book to do the 747 tour and wing walk in the time available in Longreach? :)

The wing walk tours take a couple hours and need to be pre-booked (as they require a guide and are limited in numbers), so it is unlikely on this occasion that you'll be able to do so. I'd imagine there will be some sort of meal at the museum taking up part of the time.

If you like what you see there, you can always come along on the LRE Mega Do next April, where there definitely will be enough time to do wing walks! :)

Looking forward to meeting you on the day!
