Due to circumstances beyond my control, I can no longer attend this event. I have spoken to Red Roo who has kindly organised to have the normal $88 name change fee waived so if anyone would like to take my seat I can transfer it to you for exactly what I paid for it, being $739.50.

I am not making any profit out of this, and I really wish that I could still attend.

Please contact me via PM if you are interested, but this will need to be sorted quickly. If you know anyone outside of AFF who might be interested please PM me and I will give you my contact details to pass on.

Cheers, Andrew.[/-]

I really wish I could help, but my travel plans remain the same and I will be stuck in the Middle East drinking tea and eating dates when this event happens. (well more correctly probably sleeping given the time difference, but you get the picture).

Just in case anyone stumbles upon this thread searching for a spare ticket ... I have found someone to take mine off my hands but I can't edit my previous post.

I see the times have changed and we're now making a stop in ROK on the way back. Wonder why?

Refuellling stop? Maybe too expensive / too difficult logistics to refuel at Lre...

Interesting. Neither LRE or ROK have ExxonMobil Fuel as far as I am aware (aren't they are sponsoring?).

Anyone know when the Schedule of events will be available for this day trip. I know the flights have changed but would like to know what time to arrive for the breakfast meet up in Sydney and what the schedule would be like in LRE :)

You’re correct, there will be a “gas and go” in Rockhampton on the return flight QF1361.

The runway length at Longreach, combined with the anticipated heat, prevents us from operating with a full load of fuel if we want to have a full load of passengers.

Being a charity event, we’re very happy to have sold as many seats as we did – and so quickly! :)

Ahh that makes sense.

Hope the proceeds re

So more time in the Retro Roo and visiting another airport - sounds good to me :)

To be honest I'm little disappointed by this - it makes the return flight 3.45hrs long on what sounds like a full 737 and cuts the time in Longreach down 1 hour to the same length of the return flight (hopefully this is enough time to see the museum?) I'm sure it all works out well in the end however.

Red Roo: I think Alan Joyce should send some champers from his personal cellar and send it to Rocky for the refill - because at that length flight QF are going to need extra!! :D

Having just returned from Lre, I think you need a good 2 hours to see (and read) the museum properly. ..I hooe you have time to do the 747 and 707 tour as well but I suspect not...

I'm with you on the 70s fancy dress: a) I don't have any, b) they were all synthetic, it will feel awfully hot and uncomfortable and in Longreach. It's just a silly idea

Catriona Rowntree is a TV presenter, she's in Getaway on one of similar TV shows on channel 7 (or 9, or 10, I don't really watch them but I have seen her on Tv screen)

1. I have a plan. It involves denim and wedges
2. Getaway (Channel 9) presenter, gorgeous person (not met her but her TV persona seems that way)

I'm counting down the sleeps
