Anyone been through BNE Check in this afternoon.

Just had the worst experience with QF to date.

I'm off to MKY and headed to the QP line or Business line. That was my first mistake. The line in the Business que was 15 deep as was the QP line and this was at 1645. I looked to the front and counted 1 person checking business, 1 person checking in QP and 1 person at bag drop. I should of gone to the bag drop but it was half full too.

It took nearly 30 min to get checked in. Lucky I like to get to the airport a few hours early but at that time of day it was insane.

Anyone else get done over by the long que??

I almost had the same issue last time I went to PER via SYD a couple of weeks ago, on a Sun PM. The lat line was 20 deep, the QP line similar and the Quick Check line only had about 5 pax in it. So I checked in at the QuickCheck (haven't done that for about a year) and I got to the head of that line before 2 people had moved in either of the other lines.

I even looked to do the same today, when a family of 3 got ahead of me with golf clubs etc.

Smithym, yes I am sitting here in the QP now with Nathan75. The airport has been closed for about 20 mins adn not looking like openinn anytime soon.

Watch out for him, you could have a headache tomorrow if thats the case.

Just a few delays because of the storms that have just come through... Nothing delayed more than 1 1/2 hrs though.

Hmmm, Nathan75 now hot-footing it down to Gate 1 smithym, as his flight is showing CLOSED. Hope he makes it - he hasn't been paged yet :D

Very funny. Cant imagine there would be any other way to MKY tonight. I'll have to go and tell Mrs Nathan75 that she might be in for a drive to BNE.

Wow they are some serious looking storms there that have just been shown on the CBR, ABC news. And they are saying that it is just the beginning. Hopefully I'll get to fly up there on Thursday for my transition flight from PS to SG.:D

Coming back early the same afternoon so may just beat the storms in the early evening.

There have been a couple of nights in a row with these storms now, but tonight's was much worse than last nights'.

Didn't hear him being paged smithym, so I think he made it. She doesn't need to heat up dinner...

Ah, QF637 is now departing...bye!

I was ther this morning. I did cut it fine. I was in (Emerald) line 15min before close of checkin for QF507. By the time I got served, it had closed :(. The announdes flight closure while I was tanding there for a MEL flight but nothing for the SYD flight. The checking agent was ver nice. She moved me to QF513. So I had an hour extra in the QP.

I went through BNE Sunday afternoon (returning to MEL).

Being the end of VIC school holidays I was expecting it to be pretty busy, which it was, however the J check-in queue fortunately only had a few people.

Would not have liked to be checking in in the general Y area!

As my home airport, I've always found the check-in CSA's at BNE very helpful (I know it helps to be in the Plat line).

Simillarly, I had great service this afternoon at MEL at the Quick Check. Whilst it gave me the option to move my MEL/SYD flight forward to QF442 (one of 4 choices), the QC machine didn't let me chose move my second flight (SYD/BNE) so it stuck me on the original QF552. The CSA at check-in was able to move the second flight to QF542 (and luckily protecting my J upgrade I had obtained) with a bit of key entering.

She was excellent, but I didn't get her name as her nametag was obscured.

Yeah, made it but I was dead last and I don't think the crew were happy me.

Advice : If you bump into a moderator or Lindsay for that matter, don't start drinking with them, you'll either miss your flight or end up with a nice headache.

Speaking from experience.

Moderation is the key
