I'm flying BNE-LAX-YYZ on QF15/QF3245(operated by AA) later this week, and I was hoping somebody could give me a heads up on what to expect with the transfer procedure between terminals in LAX - thanks!

Firstly welcome aboard tkellehear. The transfer process is fairly straight forward. You'll clear immigration at LAX and then go through customs. Find the transfer desk and check your bags in again (leave the original tags on them) and then go to the next terminal.

Don't stress too much if you miss your connecting flight, you'll be put on the next available flight.

Oh and don't forget to post here about how it went.

Your bags will be tagged to YYZ although they'll still appear on the luggage carousels at LAX (as will the luggage of all pax on QF15).

Clear customs with your bags then drop them on the transfer belt outside customs.

You should receive both boarding passes in BNE so on exiting the Tom Bradley Intl terminal turn right then Terminal 4 is right next door so just proceed directly to the TSA screening point to your departure gate.

If you haven't allocated your seating on AA go to www.checkmytrip.com and enter your QF booking number. It will then display your AA pnr and you can then go to www.aa.com and select your seats.

Don't request the AA seats via the QF website as they don't hold and you could end up in a middle seat LAX/YYZ.

I would either checkin prior to 0700 or after 0900 as it can be a zoo particularly on a Saturday with the new BAC/SITA kiosks which pax have to use unless J/WP or SG in which case there are two or three checkin counters.

All other checkin counters are bag drop only so pax must have their bags tagged and boarding passes before getting in the queue.

Thanks for the great info- was just as described. I'm sitting in the Admirals club in terminal 4 right now sipping on a latte waiting for my Toronto flight :) cheers
