BKK immigration warnings

First time to BKK. Once Biometrics are done at the traditional check-in you'll be good to access e-Gates moving forward. This is my understanding.
I hope your understanding is right. Been many times to BKK but in early October, I’ll test the new gates for the first time. Hoping for a smooth arrival!

Google and AI state that you should be able to use e gates if you have previously had your biometrics taken at a manned counter ( standard process ? ) using the same passport .

IIRC they scan 4 fingers on one hand and then both thumbs.
So my previous visit to BKK in 2024 is good enough to go straight to the e-Gates in Jan 2027, as far as you know? I don't recall whether they took my fingerprints or not, but suppose they must have done if that was the usual way.
