IIRC Thailand, Singapore & Hong Kong residents can use the e-Gates.

There is a difference between who is permitted to use eGates and who can use eGates.
I suspect most epassports will work...

Similar to how in Malaysia, there are 'Malaysians only' lanes, but they are the same machines as foreigner lines. Non-Malaysian passports work.. and thus, if the line isn't actively policed.... you get the idea.

From my relatively frequent post-COVID experiences, it’s less of a “J/F line” these days but in true Thai style, more of a “approach the right agent and hold your Business class boarding pass into their face” kind of, cough cough, system. If one does not assist, try someone else.

Of course, I could very well imagine that this in-official “priority line” disappears entirely during super busy times.
