Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I am reassessing my credit cards, in particular, the Virgin Flyer CC, and looking for a replacement to earn VFF & KF pts. Could someone please PM me the details of this trick, so that I can see if I can make this work for me?

isnt it explicitly stated that citibank and amex plat edge card have the best value for kf pts?

I don't know, that's why I'm asking. KF hasn't really been in my equations up until VA announced the points transfer option.

Obviously, I'm a bit slow on the uptake.

The way I put it was for my specific situation, citibank and Amex platinum edge card seem to offer the best points deals.

I've still got my NAB Velocity card which I can use for the once a year tax slug, being a PAYE who pays a medicare levy surcharge.

Could some PM me the details for the trick? I'm seriously considering switching out of QFF to either KF or Asian Miles. Just seeing what options there are out there
Thanks

Citibank has one of the best earn rate on VISA/MC, which is widely accepted credit card. The earn rate is 1 KF point/dollar spent, which is as good as you will get for KF on non Amex card. (For VA, velocity high flyer has higher earn rate) Downside is no ATO earn at all and you need a minimum of 15000 points to transfer.

Prior to ATO devaluation, Westpac's black altitude is the best balance, with 1.5 points/$ on Amex and 0.625 pt/$ on MC. (1.5 points on MC's on overseas transaction, but you pay 3% transaction fee). Now you only get half as much for ATO payments although all other purchases it's still the same earn rate.

citi prestige is 1.33KF/$ which i understand to be best in OZ rate for a visa/master. you do pay for the privilege however

Oh yes, forgot about that one. I was referring to the more down to earth signature.

The prestige is not for everyone though. Not only the high annual fee, you need a minimum income of $150K pa.

The Citibank signature card which I got had a special offer of 60K points on signup, annual fee of $299 for life. It requires an income of $75K, which is maybe more do-able.
It comes out at 1 KF per $ though

Really should see if you can still get onto fee free for life. Much better deal over the long term.

I applied and was approved yesterday. I went for the 60K points. For me, 95% of my spending goes through my Amex Plat Edge, and this card will only get used where Amex is not accepted or has a surcharge. I'll look to churn this one in 12 mths.

Hey guys, I'm also like the rest of you - citibank signature (got the 60k points then they switched me to fee free for life and refunded annual fee) + plat edge amex.

Any tricks/tips going around for accumulating KF points quickly? PM me :)

How did that happen? You got the 60K and then switched to fee free?

Honoured what? Which offer did you apply for? What did you do to get the other offer?

I told you above. Applied for 60k points + AF ($295 from memory), then came across the fee free for life deal they had, called them and they switched me to that deal and refunded me the $295 i had paid.
