Best seats in J class on Qantas 747 top deck [4 class config]

hi all,

can someone please recommend me the best seat at the top deck on Qantas 747 ? I have currently booked 16A which is the exit row seat and I like the idea of having room in front to be able to leave easily / stretch.

Is this the best seat to have and also, does it have a window as I flew before on other configs and there was no window which is bit boring ?

To be honest, the extra exit row space doesn't actually do much for you, the spacing is already comfortable.

The bride and I just did J to LAX and had the exit row on both legs in the upperdeck of the 747. There is a window and there is heaps of space.

It does have one window but not the "expanse" of windows you would experience in other seats... I firmly believe that not having a seat back within cooee in front of you is a wonderful advantage though. Enjoy

Being further set back from the exit door, 16A is better than 16K as it has more accessible 'side storage' to the left and definitely more windows to look out of.

connecting flight is also in J class with Finnair and theirs 330s and 340s are not so flash but still nice from what I read.

It appears that QF is switching aircraft on this route from 747 to A330. I'm booked on QF 5 in June, and yesterday was notified of new timing and the change of aircraft to an A330.

Agreed, but with the proviso that you won't be climbing over anyone to get out of your seat if you are in 16A or 16K

Another +1 for 16A... is IMHO the pick of the UD seats at least in the old config, that said IMHO there is no such thing as a bad J seat...

I would always choose 16 (either side is fine).

I won't be picking the upper deck window seats as a preference..the windows are too low to look out of unless you crane your neck down!

there are two flights in and out of SIN and one is 747 a the other one is A330.

the 20:30 service is A330, the 22:40 is 747, this what Qantas told me yesterday.

I don't like 16A, it's not very private with everyone having full view of you on the way past. I prefer the serenity of 11A/K where nobody disturbs me.
