Best seats in J class on Qantas 747 top deck [4 class config]

When are you flying? If it is a 4 class config I would try to get a seat in row 1 to 4... if 3 class than I have 16A

I would want my money back if you've been downgraded to an a330 skyslope.
For a day time flight to SIN, I don't care. Actually, I sleep fine on Skybed Mk 1 anyway, so would still be fine to do the QF6, as far as the beds are concerned. The bigger issue (for me) is that I just don't like the A330 as an aircraft! I do feel I've been dudded somewhat by booking on a 744 then having it switched to a (vastly inferior) 330.

Agreed - fine for a day flight but you can forget it on an overnight for be I'm sorry.

YMMV, a Skybed Mk 1 is fone for me to sleep. If you a grimacing about a 330 and how to sleep in 3A, then consider those in 40E ...

3A? That's a bit far back serfty! ;)

And I do consider you often, however when one stumps up their own cash to sit at the pointy end only to get a substandard product, one does tend to vote with one's feet.

How substandard is a Skybed mk1 in relation to a mk2?

While it can be a matter of personal preference - I indeed sleep equally well in either, so it's not a factor.

YMMV!

Yep, but the 15 degree incline doesn't work for me when there are fully flat products in the marketplace. I don't sleep well on planes so you are indeed correct that YMMV!

Isn't it only 8 degrees? I know we are knit picking here

Haha you're probably right.

I heard from someone in the know that apparently the angle was chosen to counteract the normal cruising incline of the aircraft, however most people are more comfortable when the seat is fully flat in relation to the floor.

Call it psychological but I always feel I'm slipping off mk1 and end up feet hard on the footrest. Perhaps I should just take more temazepam ;)
