Best seats economy A380?

Wouldn't they be PE snacks? But I agree, at least as a WP, that I often get offered PE snacks and drinks when seated upstairs.

Sometimes they sneak you a little extra something from further forward. I've had J champagned and snacks in Y.

When I went for downstairs front in Y I've similarly had excellent F wine offerings from some crews, and other times nothing. Agree upstairs Y can also vary from excellent to non descript service, but I reckon somewhere towards the back of Y downstairs still seems to have the lowest density occupancy, especially when returning from Dallas.

For a couple (my parents in their 60s), which exit seats/extra leg room would you suggest (all seem available) from LAX - MEL on QF94? Row 66 F/G are also available. 35D/E/F are also available.

I'm leaning towards selecting either 35D/E or row 79B/C or 66F/G.

Suggest stay away from 66 F and G if possible due to the entrance to the crew rest area being located there with lots of noise and light pollution. The upper deck is always a good option. Also consider 80A and C or 80K and H and hope no one takes the middle seat..

Hi, has anyone had recent experience with 35F. I have 80A booked but hear that it gets cold. Do that many people walk through the row between 34 and 35? I'm liking the idea of the quieter area upstairs. I have read the whole thread and read numerous opinions. Also worried about the curve in at the feet level of 80A.

I recently flew SYD-LAX in 35K and LAX-SYD in 80A.

I did not like 80A. I found the curve annoying and the seat felt more cramped than 35K. Access to the seat is better than a non-legroom seat but not as good as it looks on the seat map due to the curve. It was a bit colder than 35J but I just put on a jumper. I remember sitting in 80A feeling it was a rip-off at $180.

35J is a couple of seats away from 35K and on my flight I saw few if any people walking through the row between 34 & 35. I had read about that issue so I was curious to see how big a problem it was. If I were in 35F and people kept walking through my row I would just ask them to use the correct passage, which is still accessible even if the curtains are drawn.

I found queuing for toilets much less hassle upstairs.

Next time, if my only choice of extra-legroom is 80A or 35F I will take 35F in the blink of an eye.

Problem with 35 DEF is that some pax use this as a path to the toilet.

35D is also very close to the loo, so if the flushing niose bothers you, maybe avoid. 35JK would be the best IMO.

Upstairs is great, I always get wines from Business.... just ask when the CSO first comes to say hello, they give you a real glass that is a code to the other attendants.... you get the 'good' wine for the whole trip. My wife and kids all got biz cheese plates last week, they were all left over.

Having said that, having a chat with the CSO on DXB->SYD, he indicated that QF always leave 10+ seats on the DFW runs (which were his usual runs) as they have a lot of cargo, so lower deck from DFW is a no brainer.... take the second last row aisle seat D or G, and you will likelyu have the whole row = nice sleep.

Hey Guys!

I am flying on QF7 SYD-DFW in November with my husband and our 10 yr old daughter.

Looking for recommendations of best part of the plane to choose seats. Would further back in the lower deck be best? 82ABC and 81HJK are showing available.

Rows 67-77 are basically wide open. 65 ABC as also available.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you!
:)

Hi all.

Getting excited about flying off tomorrow for Easter on a QF A380 in Y (the excitement is in the flying off part, not the Y part). I have the option of 66EF or 32FG upstairs. I have looked through this forum but can't tell whether one of these rows has more or less legroom due to the position of the bulkhead (although row 66 gets a good write-up). I am 6.2 so legroom is the main game here.

Thanks very much.

Middle 66DEFG have more legroom than 32DEFG ...

If either you are over 5'10" then row 66 for sure ... keep your eye out as some may change seats closer to the flight ...

Thanks so much Serfty - I have nabbed 66EF and will keep my eyes open for any of the real holy grail seats.

I've finally booked another A380 flight and stumped between choosing 32J upstairs or 48A downstairs.

The cowling doesn't bother me but which cabin would be more comfortable? I do like the thought of sitting in the upper deck.

If overnight then 32J! (K better due to side storage)

The Galley behind First on the starboard side often forms a Flight Attendants club during the flight - this can be really noticable rows 48-51! (Never again!)

Good point @serfty regarding 32K. It is overnight flight. It's not the storage but not getting interrupted.

Good to know! I'm on 32J tomorrow night from SIN to MEL... will report back once I've done the flight.
