Hi all....

I am new to this point collecting habit. I am currently a member of flybuys and velocity. I am thinking between a NAB VISA credit card attached to my FLY BUYS and a NAB AMEX attached to my VELOCITY- it has a yearly fee of $140 (free the first year) with travel insurance ($65 without for a similar VISA).

I seem to believe VELOCITYpoints are easier/cheaper to get and the VIRGIN flights are also cheaper - so I am considering the AMEX attached to me VELOCITY ? Is that a good idea ?

Can I also link my FLY BUYSto this NAB AMEX as fly buys states it can be linked but am not sure you can link both FLY BUYS and VELOCITY:D

knight4success,

Let me be the first to welcome you to AFF.

You'll quickly find that there are a lot of people here with hugely different amounts of info to offer on a variety of topics.

Without being rude, and I certainly don't mean to be, there is an appreciation of people who do a little research for themselves. There is a huge amount of info available on Fly Buys and the various other CC points systems.

Suffice to say that you need to define your wants and needs for your points before people can be a lot of help with this. A lot here (myself included) believe that Fly Buys are worthless for other than collecting the odd dinner or reward and that there are many other programs that offer significantly better returns and points that actually transfer directly to airline programs. These programs offer from .5 of a FF point per dollar spend through to 1.5 points per dollar spend.

Do you have a preference of programs between Virgin Blue, Star Alliance or One World?

I politely suggest that you look at the many past topics and then ask again with a little more specific outcomes in mind.

Good luck.
