Is the JAL Flounge convienent to the QF gate? And worth it? I am WP and will have one guest.

The QF lounge is in the annex next to the gate QF uses. The best JAL Flounge is in the main building but convenient to the shuttle which takes you to the annex.it has good showers and often you can get a short massage there.Others love the food,I have not been so keen until our last visit where I thought the food offering had got much better. We usually stay there and because i am slowing up move to the QP about an hour before departure.

I was there last week. The JAL F Sakura Lounge is a lot more pleasant than the QF Lounge. It's one of the lounges around the world that I like arriving early for. The drink menu is usually worth the trip. How often can you taste taste three 18 year old malt's against each other??

My strategy is to enjoy the showers (excellent but often require a wait), have a bite and a drink courtesy of JAL and then wander across to the QF lounge as boarding time looms (they don't call QF flights in the JAL lounge).

The QP does get very busy, and frankly it's not very good. It only takes a couple of minutes to get over to the other terminal so I'd highly recommend making the most of the JAL F lounge. As drron suggested you can move to the QP when it gets closer to the boarding time if you're the type that likes to board early.

Enjoy your time in Japan. I love it there so much.

Good information to know for my upcoming trip to Tokyo at Easter:idea:

There is also the JL F Satellite lounge, a 2 minute dawdle to the normal QF gate (you pass the strain stop and the QF lounge on the way) - it's a smaller version of the main one with the same F&B. However, it closes early at 7pm and may not be completely useful for QF22.

I'd agree wholeheartedly with this, notwithstanding that whisky is never likely to cross my lips. One qualification: the PCs in the JAL lounge can be difficult to drive owing to being configured to local needs. If you need to use a PC, I'd suggest leaving enough time to get to QF J, although it's busy, busy.

I find the beef curry totally uninteresting.Bland and not visually stimulating.

I agree, the Sakura f lounge is much more pleasant than the QP lounge. Was there with my partner last year on our first trip to Japan and it was most enjoyable (although it took me awhile to work out how get the water running in the shower!)

How long does it take to walk / shuttle to the QF22 gate from the JAL F Lounge ?

Are the signage sufficiently clear or I should ask for tips now to avoid missing the plane ?

QF checks in at T2, 3rd Fl in main building.

Serfty's map shows the JAL F Lounge also on 3rd Fl, main building - so it is just after Customs & Immigration then.

Thanks in advance !

I'd allow 5 - 10 ten minutes; QF22 normally departs from the gate closest to the QF lounge.

That's to the left from the train.

The train wasn't running in mid-October... not sure if it's back in operation yet.

What's the option when train is not running ?

Moving walkway ?

Or just walking ?

In that case (walking), how long would that be between JAL F Lounge (main building) and QF22 gate (satellite building) ?

Also, QF check in is 3-4 hrs before departure like SYD ? Or earlier ?

Thanks in advance !

IME the QF lounge is quite adequate in NRT & conveniently close to the departure gate.
It is reasonably spacious & has selections of snack & drink options, with pleasant views.
I did notice there were quite a number of MH J passengers in addition to the usual patronage on my last visit recently.
