Hi

I am just wondering what are my options for a trip coming up soon.

I will be flying to BNE-LHR return, via SYD and SIN. I am a QF silver, my partner is QF gold, we are both Qantas Club members (partner's is on hold due to Gold status), and we are flying business class with Qantas all the way.

What lounges are we entitled to use on the way? Are we limited to QPs, or can we duck into another OW carrier's lounge in SIN? More importantly, is it worth it? Or is the QP the best option?

Cheers.

The SIN QP (Qantas J lounge) would be by far your best option.

There is the Skyview Lounge which probably has better food IMO (including it's nice dim sum), but overall the QP is better.

I would second that, the QP/BA lounge is better, the little skylounge could be good quiet option if no other flights are leaving that the airlines use that lounge. I like my free wireless to catch up on everything in the QP.

Ok, so the J lounge is the same as the Qantas Pub? Or are they separate?

Also, what about for our trip back? In LHR, is the BA/QP the best option there? Or are there others?

It is odd because we are flying in on an BA Economy flight from Athens, and transferring to our QF J flight in LHR. I have heard that BA has an arrivals lounge in LHR as well. Has anyone used this, and how does it shape up?

You won't be able to use the BA arrivals lounge unless you have come off a long haul J flight.

I find the Skyview lounge a lot better than QF J lounge. Yes it is smaller but the food in the Skyview lounge is much better, the view outside, especially at night, is magical and the PC area is setup nicely and quiet. The QF J lounge is much bigger but very noisy, have a nice view of people checking in downstairs, the food is nothing special, pizza when it is there is OK, and the row of PCs with hardly any personal space and most are taken up with children playing loud internet games.

Now the QF/BA F lounge might be a different story. May get a chance to try it out later this month....

QP (Qantas Pub) is just the nick names we give to the QC (Qantas Club) since nearly the only thing we do there is drink the HP (Hahn Premium) or equivalent :) So same thing yes.

BA Terraces lounge in LHR, thats all i have ever been to, depends what terminal your in. Nice lounges the ones i have been to.

Ok, does that count for QF flights in J?

Arrival into LHR in J on longhaul QF does allow access to the Arrivals lounge . No guests permitted

Ok, thanks everyone for the info and opinions.

I would guess that we might just stick with the QP in SIN on the way over, and freshen up in the BA arrivals lounge in LHR.

On the way back it will be the BA/QF loung in ATH and LHR, and we might visit the skyview lounge in SIN for the dim sum. If it's a bit busy there, we can go to the QP for HP and other AAs (alcoholic acronyms).

;)

You have a choice of two BA Terraces Lounges in LHR Terminal 4 (prior to your QF flight home). One is near Gate 1 and the other is at the Lounge Pavilion near Gate 10.

The one near Gate 1 is better.

If you want a Molton Brown spa treatment however, you will need to go to the Lounge Pavilion to check for availability. Once you find out that none is available (which is most likely to be the case unless you are there way before your flight) you can go back to the Gate 1 lounge where there is less likely to be a wait for showers.
