The Chubb travel policy is designed for business but if you have a trust this will do othewise a business trading as can work.

it is the best policy around and if ypu can get it you will have great cover.

cheers

I just noticed this - Citibank, underwritten by ACE Insurance (like the Amex policy) and an annual policy is $380 ($323 if you're a Citigold customer). Not quite as generous as the Amex policy, but it allows unlimited trips of up to 90 days, which is important for me (I will go for trips around 60 days), and there isn't a business travel requirement.

Might be finally time to cut down the Amex Platinum Charge, get Citigold, get a $350/year Select card and pay for this travel insurance on top. Or go and get a Platinum Business card (at $1200 and still has the old policy). I can't decide.

The business plat charge cover still applies automatically to all trips but other detrimental changes made recently to the standard plat charge cover are also now applied to the business plat cover, in particular:

- the policy has an extremely wide definition of pre-existing medical conditions excluded from cover

- the policy has an extremely wide definition of so-called "special sports" which now excludes many routine and completely non-dangerous holiday activities from cover

- there is now a $250 excess on all medical claims

I'd recommend that you review this policy very carefully to ensure that you aren't going to be excluded from cover.

What a pity. Then I won't be holding on to the Amex Platinum Charge Cards of any variety then!

The Citibank Select Card beckons!

I would go the citibank select visa but I don't earn enough :(

Did you end up going with Citi?

My remaining overseas trip this year is booked under the old Amex policy, so I'll wait until after that. I'm leaning towards this plan.

I ended up going with it - hopefully I won't have to use it to find out if it's any good!

For those interested in CHUBB TI, and are medicos, AMAWA, and I assuma other AMAs sell the Chubb TI. I have a copy of the PDS if you wish to peruse it. I can't seem to find cover for travel delays which is the area I find most useful (whilst medical coverage is most important, I have not yet needed to claim).

Interesting - do you have a link for the AMA WA's offering so that I can go to my local AMA branch and ask them about whether they do the same?

There's no link, sorry. The website is 'being updated' but I saw the mention of travel insurance in the magazine. Called them to check the underwriter and peruse the pds.
Call your AMA financial services people or insurance people maybe?
