I have booked 3 further flights with them this year, aswell as 2 jetstar flights, but from what I understand, jetstar does not count toward earning status credits and FF points. ...
Now you can link those future bookings up with your newly minted frequent flyer number.

Simply use www.qantas.com/yourbooking

Note that if you select at T-80, you'll have an even better selection ...

I said T-72 a lot didn't I?
Yeap your right, I meant T-80. (I must have had the number 72 on my mind for some reason)

But PC I thought was great value and yeh there were lesser hotels but also great ones (I'd nominate the Crowne Plaza at KL and the Intercontinental Singapore) but I did appreciate the value the points were
Priority Club may well be great value if one considers spending $200+ a night at most major cities in Australia great value. Yes pricing can be a little cheaper in Asia but still on the expensive side. If discussing the USA/Canada or Europe then it is a totally different story. There appears to be competition in those areas.

In my opinion accommodation is totally over rated if one is only going to be sleeping in the room for 8 hours. When I am on holidays I would hardly spend any time in the room so why waste the money on expensive accommodation? To get status in some loyalty program? Or to accumulate points?

I prefer cheap(ish) accommodation. Place needs to be clean, have TV, shower/bathroom facilities and a lock on the door.

I am extremely happy with my ~AUD30/night accommodation in Pattaya (although I may change to a ~AUD40/night hotel soon), ~SGD70 accommodation in Geylang (or even spend the night at Skyview Lounge in SIN airport) or ~AUD60/night accommodation in Hong Kong.

I don't know the equation of $spend to earn free nights for Priority Club or HHonors but I know one thing for certain and that is the free rooms I have accumulated with Priority Club and Hhonors have come at a price I do not want to pay anymore.

Welcome to AFF snazzy_traveller. This site is a "gold mine" of info!

I am contemplating becoming a Qantas Frequent Flyer. I am also a member of the Velocity rewards programme which is completley free to join. I find the Velocity programme similar to QFF however the service in the air will not be as good. Qantas have the most professional service in the air. This is already a known fact and I am sure most of you already know that.
QF can be hit and miss too.

JeniSkunk ; I think that it has been established in this forum (other threads) that DJ's Velocity program can't really be compared to QF Frequent Flyer program. It's like apples and oranges (at the moment).
To me, DJ is an airline that is stuck with a LCC stigma, but also trying to woo corporate clients with the "Premium Economy" seats. It is stuck fighting on routes with Tiger, Jetstar and Qantas, even though it only has 1 brand (unlike QF Group, which has 2 brands).
"Maybe" in the not too distant future, things might change, but at the moment l will continue to fly QF as they service the routes l use, l can use points to get to Europe and lounge access when flying the Oneworld network. Yes, the "Status Credits" can be a little bit disappointing in some aspects (ie, l did SYD-PER (5 hour flight) and got 20SC and then did PER-ZNE (1.2hour flight) the next day, and got 15SC), but you just have to live with that.

Check out my "3" points in the "Woolies Everyday Rewards Program". I wonder where that came from? LOL!
