Hello Fellow Members,

As you all know, the use of mobile apps have become increasingly popular among travellers round the world. In light of this changing landscape, several perceptions of using airline carrier's mobile apps are not known or addressed properly.

Therefore, I am writing this message in connection with an academic research survey to understand travellers' perceptions of using airline carrier's Mobile apps and Digital wallet apps whilst travelling.

These academic research surveys are conducted by the University of Cote d’azur, France. The purpose of this survey is to understand how international travellers perceive the values of these mobile apps. Furthermore, this study will also examine, which factors influence the traveller’s perceived value of airline carrier's mobile apps and how it leverages the brand image, satisfaction and loyalty of travellers.

I am sending herewith the link of the surveys. And I have sought permission and support from the administrator of AFF forum to post this survey.

I need around 200 to 250 responses for each of the survey.

Therefore, time is not the main constraint really.

I will wait till I get these responses.

As I don't use any travel apps at all, and the survey gives no option of saying I don't use them, the value of the survey is somewhat limited and will give a false impression that everyone uses them. Perhaps that's the result they need but isn't a true reflection of people here.

Many thanks for your message. I understand your concern.

This survey is designed to understand some perceptions (for example: convenience, usability, security, ease of use, involvement, transactions elements etc.,) of mobile apps from the users. And which factors are considered important for them.

In recent years, there has been a lot of discussion about the benefits of mobile apps and many companies are offering mobile apps services for their customers. In addition, globally, there has been an increase in the number of mobile app users, and the number is increasing as we speak.

So, it is interesting to know the perceptions of mobile apps from active users. Hence, the survey.

Nonetheless, there are some people, who do not use mobile apps. Hence, this survey limits the discussions.

However, it can be interesting idea to launch a survey to understand why some people do not use mobile apps. And obviously, that leads to another topic of discussion.

In my mind it makes the survey a mockery of see what people's concerns are on travel apps if you don't include people who don't use them and ask them why.

By not collecting the whole picture you survey results are bias results.

Of course your audience or customer may not care.

I don't think this survey is about the whole market, but rather the subset that do use mobile apps/wallets, and why that is. Previous or future surveys could look at why people do or don't use mobile apps/wallets, but because this one doesn't, isn't a reason that the data becomes invalid.

I agree, but I wouldn't know as it wouldn't let me do the survey.

Sorry, I gave up on the surveys.

I use my apps/wallet *ALL* the time but the surveys don't seem to cope with people who travel often for both business and pleasure, multple classes of travel, multiple airlines/alliances and multiple apps!

I cope with this on Tripit by having all my forwarded email generate entries in "unfiled items".

I then move different items as appropriate to their designated trips

Ditto (although not too much ends up 'Unfiled').

The Surveys weren't that clever.

I understand the concerns. However, I reckon digital wallet mobile app services are going through a period of incremental innovation.

Going forward, I hope more functionalities, features and services will be added subsequently.

The use of mobile apps for digital wallets are evolving really.

Businesses are now extending their e wallet services to airline passengers. For example: to manage boarding pass loyalty programmes.

Therefore, it has become an interesting landscape for international travellers.

It will be interesing to see what sort of innovative services will be offered to travellers in future.
