Batik Air is commencing flights from ADL-KUL in July with 3x services per week

KUL-ADL Dep 2310 Arr 0750 (+1) Tue Thu Sun

ADL-KUL Dep 0840 Arr 1455 Mon Wed Fri

Will be interesting to see if MH reacts with some sale fares. Timings aren’t too bad but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea (me included)

Wonder what aircraft will be used - I can't imagine there would be the demand to pull 1 of its only A333's out, but does the B737/A320 have the range to operate?

Looking at some OTAs, it looks like the route is listed as being flown by Boeing 737-800s

EDIT:
MAX?

I think you're right (and the OTA is incorrect). Expertflyer also shows OD122 as being operated by a 7M8.

I think they have just received a couple of new MAX’s so perhaps one is coming on this route

Would be assuming the all-Y MAXes would be operating on this route. They tend to keep the 2-class MAX-8 (a small subfleet under Batik Malaysia) on longer runs such as KUL-MEL.

Hoping for MH sale fares too
Got to say though OD’s Y legroom is impressive

And MEL loses the non-stop service:

The Advertiser are reporting Batik Air will be commencing non-stop Adelaide to Denpasar services.

Article is behind a pay wall, so can’t see the full details, but service commences October 29th 2023.

They were here pre Covid so good to see another airline return

Hope they bring back those cheap pre-Covid rates. Their current rates to KUL are uncompetitive

Technically a new airline for Adelaide. Batik Indonesia will be operating DPS-ADL this time around instead of Malindo/Batik Malaysia.

Flights now on sale, commence 8th November 2023. Operates 4x weekly - Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday.

Some pretty reasonable fares too. $500-600 return.

Schedule:
  • ID6013 DPS 0115 ADL 0900
  • ID6012 ADL 1020 DPS 1330
The mornings are sure going to busy for international arrivals and departures at ADL.

Well at least ADL-DPS will be equipped with J recliners with Batik Indonesia. Batik Malaysia/Malindo would've likely sent the all-Y 737 MAX 8s.
