I will be travelling with my 18 month old niece (and sister & brother in law) in September. Does anyone know whether the bassinets are suitable for an 18 month old or will she need to sleep on our laps. We will be flying with Malaysian.

Thanks

Peter

We found that by the time our daughter was 18 months she either would not fit into or would not sleep comfortably in the bassinets. So she slept on me or in an empty seat next to us :D

And she's not a tall/large kid.

I think you'll find an 18 month old is well over the weight restriction the airline imposes on those wanting to utilise the bassinet (I can't recall off the top of my head) but you'll more than likely have to nurse her on your lap.

QF weight limit is 11.8kg but infant that age will simply want to crawl out anyway!

Thanks for the replies.

I had wondered if she might be too big. She is not a very big baby but she is definately a wriggle worm.

I'm sure my sister will be happy (not) to know that she will possibly be sleeping on her lap.
