issuing World cards means they get to charge the super-premium interchange rate, so they'll presumably be pushing them pretty hard soon.

I received my letter today to upgrade for free. They must be targeting all existing Platinum card holders who have the required minimum credit limit. BW offered me an increase months ago, but I only took it up when I heard about this new card so that I would qualify.

Are there any information on what the minimum credit limit it is to qualify for this card?

It has been mentioned that $12k is the minimum. Nothing in the letter though. It just states no change to your existing limit.

For all those interested I guessed the other links...

http://www.bankwest.com.au/world <- Qantas World Free Upgrade
http://www.bankwest.com.au/moreworld <- More World Free Upgrade

Commbank has a similar list of sites though you can't apply for them and criteria is confidential:

Got the new card in the mail today, comes with a booklet outlining features, and a CD with terms and conditions. Activated card online and working fine. Now have two entries in online banking though, so seems like the Plat card is still active at least for the time being.

Card looks okay, better then the Plat one. Think it would've looked better with a grey/silver Mastercard logo.

Seeing both cards in OLB is normal. That happened when BW issued me with a new platinum card when Mastercard had advised them the card had been compromised. After a few days all your existing transactions will move over to the new card.

My World card now shows up in OLB even though I don't have the card yet and haven't activated it.

Did you get a letter confirming the annual fee, interest rates, credit limit etc? I requested a transfer from my Zero card (no rewards, but no fee either) and I have a World MasterCard showing in online banking. I'd be interested in knowing if the no fee will carry through given the contract variation I had to tick stated the fee would be the same.

Does Zero come with "World" version as well, I thought only More and Qantas do.

Yes, a letter comes with the card with a full statement of contract variation, including everything you stated.

I don't think so, which is why I'm trying my luck here to get a Qantas one for free.

I doubt, and you might end up paying new annual fee. It is not upgrade, it is actually a product switch.

I am not convinced here that I'll get it, I just don't see the harm in trying. Product switch or not, the terms of the contract variation were clear.

I'll await the letter as kpro says comes with the card. If there is any fee I won't activate it.

Received my new card today, not activated yet. It's quite attractive, more a dark grey than black (reminds me of the WP QFF card).
Letter accompanying it confirms no change to annual fee ($99) and benefits like 0% foreign currency conversion fee remain.

Got my card today. The accompanying letter didn't list a $0 annual fee (no value in paying $220) so I won't bother activating. This is one instance where playing the system didn't pay off for me.
