I have the 50k bonus card and still haven't received my points after 3 months. I don't even see the bonus points accrued on my statement so I sent a message to bankwest and they told me this:

I can confirm that the points will be received within 5 months of the account opening date.

Well they shouldn’t be surprised when they see cancellations roll in after bonus points are “paid”.

The bonus points aside, I've already been through 1 statement period and haven't even received the points accrued. Is anyone else experiencing this? I can see the points on my statement and its been weeks since the period is over.

my spend points didn't start coming through until 3rd month. Bonus points look like they'll come in the 4th month

Been covered several times, they won’t start posting to your account until after your third statement is produced. This is in the T&Cs, nothing to worry about.

Same as, 90k QF points shown on statement yesterday, 50k on OH’s a couple of weeks ago. Points started txferring last month, so 5/10 they should be in our QFF accounts.

What’s everyone doing with the cards longer term? I’d be tempted to keep the World, but they treat a lot of stuff as cash transactions, which means it’s use to earn a few k extra is limited. I already have NAB signature, which has the same earning rate, and various cards which have no o/s txn fees...

And, as expected, bonus for OH and I posted overnight. Five months deep, Bankwest have fulfilled their end as promised, without any need for intervention, not bad. Now for the next 🤔

Was there anything 'they treated as cash transactions' that you were suprised about? Actually, I'm not even sure I understand what they mean. Foreign exchange? Paypal? can you elaborate? many thanks. Glad you got your bonus. I'm looking forward to mine.

Same same. Applied late June, met min spend in July with bonus points arriving overnight :) Approved for ANZ Black yesterday so this card is now on borrowed time 😁

Yes...whilst they could be classed as such I suppose, they've not been treated as such by any other card provider I've used so far.

Without going into too much detail, it's not Transferwise (always treated as cash ime), or PayPal (never cash, always treated a purchase). One provider has never been treated as cash for me elsewhere other than BW - Bankwest did not class the Aussie operation as cash originally, but that loophole is now closed.

The other main one for me is not going to be of any use to the vast majority of people in Australia, it's a legacy of living overseas which I retained; this one definitely should be treated as cash, but for some stroke of luck isn't by anyone but Bankwest.

My points posted this morning too.

Funny I only hit the minimum last month though.

Edit: Now this is over, anyone know where/if they have an online card cancellation? Can't find one.

Log into Bankwest account, go to Account Balances, click where it says "See more account details" & you will see an option to close the account.

Same as others - my bonus points posted on Saturday, 5 months after being approved for the card, so longer than some banks but no need for any intervention. Was initially planning to hang onto this card for the fee free foreign transactions, but have changed my mind and will churn this week.
