Hi

Anyone else receive an email from Bankwest saying that from 1 April 2020 the points earn on your balance will be reduced?

“The number of Qantas Points you earn each day per $100 of account balance will reduce from 0.4 to 0.3 points. In addition, the number of Qantas Points earned per Eligible Purchase will reduce from 5 points to 3. The number of points earned from an Eligible ATM Withdrawal overseas remains unchanged at 5 points. This affects clause 1 of the Bankwest Qantas Rewards Program Terms and Conditions.”

I've not yet received the email, but I had a premonition of this just this morning as we were discussing interest rates on bank deposits.

Haven't received it but not too surprising since they've devalued the credit cards multiple times.

No. Haven't recieved yet but undoubtably will soon. I was wondering when they would reduce points earn in line with falling interest rates.

Have been on this account for about 8 months but getting out ASAP.
It is now a total dud with the upcoming devaluation to 0.3 points and the fact that more and more savings accounts are paying 2% interest or better
I'm getting 2.2% at Xinja, so I will put my $264,000 in there for the next year and will earn $3659 interest AFTER tax at 37%.
I'll add the $1560 of saved taxes/surcharges from the rip-off Qantas FF programme and will have a whopping $5585 to spend on a business class return to Europe.
I'll be able to choose the dates and times I want and won't have to trawl though pages and pages of non-availability.
Here's a quick look: China Airlines or Malaysia have excellent J products I'm told
