Bankwest Qantas Transaction account [being withdrawn in 2025]

Hi everyone,
I currently hold a Bankwest Easy Transaction account, but not this Qantas account.
Am i eligible for this 5k sign up bonus?

Mine is long gone so would need to write it again. I think Telstra has implemented changes to their website which would make it more difficult anyway.

I can’t think of any easy options anymore. Telstra was basically the last remaining source however many years ago it was.

Does anyone knows if the $2000 month deposit for the BW offer can be from another bankwest account? say from mrs bankwest account into my bankwest account?

I don't see why not. I transfer 2 x $1k in and out in the same day (although not with another Bankwest account).

I applied for and got the card later last month, but forgot to deposit $2000. Can I start from this month and make Jul/Aug/Sep the first three months after opening the account?

I believe I saw in the T&Cs somewhere that the first month is excluded from the charge you get if you don't deposit 2k. You can probably make a case you didn't have a chance if you got the card late in the month.

Anybody receive the 5K bonus points yet (if the promotion has been running for more than 3 months...) ? If so how long did it take for points to arrive, I read up to 60 days.

Also how long does it take for BW to credit points accumulated via spend or money sitting in the bank account?

I only saw the promo in June, haven't had any points sweep yet.

Ah ok, think the promotion only started in June, so earliest people may see the 5K bonus points is late August I guess...

Points from Bankwest normally turn up around the 9th of the month following the one you earned them in. Any points from June will likely credit late this week.

One fact and one funny from the T&Cs for the 5000 bonus points.

Fact: Must complete a minimum of 10 eligible transactions in each of the first 3 calendar months from the date of Account opening using a Bankwest Debit Mastercard.

I interpret this as don't sign up in the last days of the month as you won't have much time to get the 10x transactions done (as it takes a few days for the card to arrive).

Funny: Most purchases are eligible purchases except some things such as balance transfers, bank fees, gambling, government chargers and anything else listed in Section 1 of Bankwest Qantas Rewards Program terms and conditions

Do they mean USB-C, or perhaps a wall-box for charging a car? :p

Ubank offering 2.35% p.a. from 1 August
That brings the cost of a J return to Europe (with taxes of $800 each way) up to $6,000 rtn for a top rate taxpayer. At that cost I think I will fly revenue and earn points and SC
I am definitely done with this bank 'scam'

You can start using the debit master card straight away via the Bankwest app.
