Bought my 60,000 AA miles the other day and it posted at 1.043 when market spot rate was just a few tenths of a cent higher. So can vouch for the rate being good.

That's definitely promising news.

so should apply via the phone? as online doesn't guarentee you the card you want? anyone had experience paying tax with this?

I got approved on the 16th Dec and emailed payslips straight away, yet still no word and no card from them. Such slow customer service!

Has anyone with this card actually had any points credited yet? I've had mine for ~6 weeks now and haven't received any points (either from spend or the sign-up offer).

Yes scheps I have done that two years running.
You have to stop at the $200k as that is the annual cap for a point a dollar earning with Qantas.

I asked this question when I called last week. I was told it will take 2-3 months for everything to settle into a rhythm - this includes bonus points and points for $ spent.

I've had my card since mid-Nov and no points yet.

Similar story here...

I got nothing from the call centre, but I did re-read the terms and conditions and they indicate there is a time period (60 days I think) and also a minimum spend...

I've now received my first batch of points however so once these conditions are met you should start to see the points

Glad to have gotten in when it was 20,000 then.

What's the minimum spend to get the bonus? I've already put $2.5k through.

There was a condition about an 'eligible purchase' which I clarified with Bankwest to mean a normal credit card purchase transaction. Apart from that I don't recall anything about a minimum spend.

**sigh** Already a hiccup and a major one at that.

I was online yesterday setting up an online presence and entering my QFF number...err...there's nowhere to put it. After looking online it seems I have been issued the wrong card and wrong account. I was given the "More Rewards" account and not the QFF one.

I spoke with the someone in the call centre today and they confirmed there are cases where even if you select the QFF card 'apply now' button, the application reverts to the More Rewards one.

The solution is I need to complete a variation in contract form which they action in a couple of days. The issue I need to keep an eye on now is ensuring I still get the bonus points since technically I am no longer a "new" customer. :(

An update:

Of course this was not meant to run smoothly.

Points were credited today but not the amount I was expecting. I have no idea how it was calculated. The bonus points were not added but the amount in there does not marry up with my purchases either.

Also, due to the initial card mix up, my interest rate is not currently 0%. This is more important for me because while I pay off my balance in full, I would like to park my money elsewhere and just pay the card balance at a later date.

I have contacted the call centre and they are going to investigate. Luckily, they understand and agree that the account is not working correctly.

I have emailed them through "BOB" to ask why I haven't received any points yet, but so far no response. Haven't got around to calling.

You're right there is nowhere online to enter the QFF number, there was also nowhere on the application form either - rather weird for a Qantas co-branded card. When I spoke to someone during the application process I asked if I could give her my number and she accepted it, but whether it actually made it onto my account or not yet I have no idea. At least in my case I did get the right card product (Qantas Platinum) and my statements do show points earned, so I am confident it will eventually be resolved. I'm expecting a fight over the 20000 bonus of course :)

Have just got off the phone with Bankwest. There is a 60 day waiting period for your accrued points, then it posts on the following 5th of the month. So I saw my first points from a November activation credit yesterday. The bonus points should have been included in the first sweep (apparently) but they weren't. At least the operator acknowledged I should have them and she'll follow up.

Yes I've just checked and I did get some points allocated on the 5th of Feb, seemingly about all I was owed from spending up to that point. No sign of the 20000 signup bonus however.

Yes, points allocated are based on purchases to date. This was confirmed by BW when they called me yesterday. It's a bit of a pain as it means I still need to ensure reconcile all purchases. It would have been easier if they had done it by statement.

My account *was* screwed up. They are fixing all my issues and hopefully it will all be done soon.

As annoying as all this was, I must commend the people I've been speaking with at BW. They have always listened, never made excuses and have been active in addressing my issues in a timely manner.

Disturbing to hear about the errors being made. I'm wondering if they were overwhelmed since they were offering 20,000 points for $89.

I agree. They say they'll call back and they do - the same person you spoke to last time! Even though it would be better to have no issues I am substantially less frustrated than I was with dealing with Virgin Flyer card's call centre, for example.

It is a very good product and so long as they sort out the bonus points, and keep the fee ~$100 p.a. I think this will be my long term non-Amex card rather than just an upfront point accumulator.
