Our friends have a night in Bangkok with an early long haul departure so they are looking for a lovely airport hotel.
Any suggestions??

Wow that was very quick. Looks really lovely so Mrscove has emailed it straight off to our friends.

There are some really nice hotels around the LadKrabang area that offer complimentary transport to/from airport and some also breakfast.

I have booked a night in one in 2 weeks time that cost me ~AUD21 for the night. Not 4-5 star by any stretch of the imagination but more than adequate for an overnight stay.

I shall post some photos in my upcoming budget trip report but the last time I stayed there the room was huge.

I have stayed at both the Novotel and The Cottage.

Novotel is my first preference as it is so convenient and the pool is really nice to spend some down time at. It's a quick walk back to the airport via underground access where you can get cheap massages and meals. I can also recommend the club rooms (include internet, breakfast and excellent evening canapes and drinks) but the price of this hotel is really expensive for Bangkok.

OTH, The Cottage is cheap, clean and has very helpful staff. Downside is the longer distance to the airport, spartan rooms and the wait for the shuttle.
