I recently flew my family with Emirates to Bangkok from Sydney in first class using points. It was a mix of business and pleasure. I had a meeting at 10am on the morning I arrived at 1am so I chose first class( business was not available) to ensure a good sleep before meeting.
Instead what occurred was a night of horror. A young child decided it didn't want to sleep so screamed for 7 hours. The mother refused to move to the lounge and every passenger was kept awake. I understand the mother was also upset but the staff repeatably tried to get her to move and she refused.

I think they already do, instead it's for everyone who is not Plat and can request seats released.

That’s would be a significant change. ATM EK F awards are shown, does they system have the capability to restrict availability based on age?

My take on it is, it's like QF already done this for everyone for all flights no matter on your age just your status is what counts

Platinums requesting release of awards seats is very different. It’s asking yield management to convert a revenue seat to an award.

QF cannot do that for emirates, they don’t control the EK inventory or yield management.

Unless you’re suggesting QF holds on to the EK award space but blocks it from view… but then you’d have thousands of extra calls coming in to the call centre with people wondering if an award was available…
