I booked a flight down from SFO to LAX on the QF website when I booked my ADL-SFO-LAX-ADL trip.
The flight down to LAX is 5 days after I got to SFO, and 3 days before I fly from LAX, but the flights are all on the same booking.
My qantas booking says "included 2 pieces"
Is that correct? I've been a little naughty with some bits I bought today and will need 2 bags to get it all to LAX. Will it cost me anything for the extra bag? Neither bag will be over 23kg.
I'm just trying to be prepared if I need to explain any details to a check in chick/guy.

Thanks for any help.

You should be fine as long as it's only 2 bags and not more than 23kg each.

As a OW Ruby you are exempt from the AA baggage charges for the first two bags.

You are also exempt seeing as you are on an international itinerary, whether or not your SFO-LAX flight is on the same ticket or a different one.

Your 3 bag allowance that QF give you is only valid on QF metal.

Just a footnote that Qantas have this two bag allowance for bookings with Transpacific flights.

It is different from what Qantas allow for other international bookings.

I flew down from SFO to LAX on AA in coach and had no problems at all with 2 bags - both under 23kg.
I then added another bag to fly home from LAX and that was fine too with Qantas club membership.
All in all, a very smooth experience in SFO
