British Airways’ Exclusive New “Group 0” Boarding

As of March 26, 2024, British Airways will be rolling out Group 0 boarding on all flights, in addition to the existing Group 1-9 concept. Group 0 is intended specifically for British Airways Gold Guest List and Premier customers. Gold Guest List is for those who rack up lots of Tier Points (by flying British Airways a regrettable amount), while Premier is given to those who control big corporate travel budgets, and to other people who are very important to the airline.

The idea is that these Group 0 customers will be able to board before Group 1, which includes British Airways first class passengers, as well as oneworld Emerald members.

Not going to affect me, but the high spenders will love it; I suspect the F pax not so much.

But 10 boarding groups?

Having just completed a couple of BA Euro flights the process is a bit of a rabble as it is anyway. Groups 1,2 and 3 lined up and were called at same time and it seemed like half the flight had 1,2 or 3 then they boarded 4-9 together. What made it worse was that due to too many passengers and not enough room onboard both flights they called for passengers to willingly come forward and have their carry on luggage taken and checked in for free and also given group 3 boarding with the kicker being that they actually boarded ahead of legitimate group 1,2 and 3 passengers.
