I can't see any availability from 1 July 2019 to 31 July 2019 for Qantas reward seats for any direct flights from Singapore or Hong Kong to Brisbane/Sydney/Melbourne. Seats are available until 30 June 2019 and then more seats are available from 1 August 2019.

Does anyone have any insight into why Qantas would be doing this? I'm particularly interested in J class HKG-BNE in July 2019.

The first 2-3 weeks of July out of HKG is almost a blackout period for reward seats. If you have ExpertFlyer it can be a good idea to set up award searches. If you're QF WP or above you can also call QF to request a seat, but no guarantee there...

I was able to get 2 reward J tickets QF SYD-HKG for next July - I booked this at the end of July - I think the rewards get taken shortly after the flights appear during this busy school holiday time.

I am looking for the same and could not find a single J seat from HKG BKK SIN CGK DPS KIX NRT MNL to the east coast in the first half of July.

Australia to Asia is fine. The return leg has no availability 1-31 July 2019. June and August is fine.

If you can get across to Tokyo there is some reward availability back to Aus from Tokyo in July 19.

I'm 99% sure Qantas is intentionally not making these seats available for award redemption.

I have been looking for a couple of months in preparation for my bookings in a few weeks and have also noted that the lack of J options.
Its worrying.
