Nice! No availability all the way to SYD or you need to stop in BKK?[/QUOTE]

No BKK was the destination. Looking forward to trying Asiana F. No more discussion now so JT doesn't tell us off:)

I took advantage of the recent 140% bonus promotion. Only had about 4-5 hours of the promotion left and had a hell of a time buying the points due to credit card problems and their website failures, but eventually bought 320,000 LifeMiles for USD $4,422 after a couple of hours back and forth on the phone.

With the help of Matt at FFS I got 2 J Class tickets for May 2019:

15/5/19 UA100 SYD - IAH
29/5/19 UA101 IAH - SYD

Edit- 2 return trips SYD-IAH

320,000 LM + USD $322.46 taxes.

Very happy considering I paid AUD$6,000 to fly J class last year in United SYD-ORD and Korean Air ORD-SYD for one person.

Assume it’s two returns not one ways (UA101 is IAH-SYD)

Good to see you found availability on UA, do they offer full Polaris cabin and service on that route?

Yep, 2 returns. Yes, I believe it’s the Polaris cabin. I flew Polaris last year SYD-ORD and had the bulkhead seat 1D on the aisle. I was very pleasantly surprised after flying UA Y Class many times in my younger years and it was absolute cough.

recently booked (for 2 persons) in J SYD-BKK-HAN on TG - no problems doing this online for 50,000 pp

tried to book the return portion HAN-BKK-SYD in J/F on TG (for 60,000 pp) but had to use the screenshot method due to an overnight layover in BKK. Needed to escalate this request by phone (several times) but finally got them to book and ticket on the spot (3rd call).

No need to guess - this was to take advantage of the CX mistake fare booked on NY day.

Recently booked via screen shot method
TG F SYD-BKK-CDG connecting with TK J CDG-IST. Total points 115,000 + tax.
I used 46,000 points and purchased the other 69,000.
Sorry but I can't remember the $$ cost.
My first time TG F so looking forward to it. Thanks to @boomy for recommending this route.

Recently booked PER-SIN-PEK-YUL-HAV in J SQ/CA for July via screenshot method.
81K plus US$79.24 tax plus $25 fee (I ended up doing cash plus points, so it was 34K plus ~$1200au).

So multi class screenshot method is now allowed?

I got TG F BKK-SYD yesterday at short notice (booked on Friday).
Unremarkable other than that it was the last seat in the cabin.

When was it not allowed? I’m doing mixed class bookings ever since screenshots became an option.

i had 2 knocked back and multiple reports of it on FT.

Anyway I am basically out of the LM game for now since I can longer seem to get SQ in J to Bne from SIN and TG reducing BNE flights

I totally agree with ditching LM - I'm just running down my and Mr LL's balances - essentially with the low AUD, increased mileage requirements, poor *A award availability ex-OZ, LM's cost of changes and/or cancellations, and LM's buggy web site - it's almost as 'cheap' to buy J tickets - particularly to Europe.

I think in the case of LM it depends on the agent handling the screenshot request. I got knocked back once last year for requesting too many connections, the response was: LM and *A policy is maximum 3 connections in one way itinerary. Now we all now that’s bullshit so I’ve sent the same itinerary once more and it was approved.

Regarding TG, not only they reduced BNE flights but also downgraded the B787/A350 to B772 with old J recliners. I did that flight couple of weeks ago and never again, from now in it’s either via SYD in F (availability is good atm) or another airline.

Interesting, I thought TG don’t release last minute seats.
I was booked on BNE-BKK in J few weeks ago and was watching SYD-BKK F availability hoping to upgrade. There were 6 seats available for sale up to the day of travel yet TG didn’t release any more seats to UA/LM.

You mean you thought they ‘did’ realise availability?

They certainly used to, I saw F2O2 on a flight BKK-LHR in the last (day before travel).

They might be restricting it now.

Did it show zero availability few days prior then became F2?

I know TG are generous in releasing more seats throughout the year but never saw them doing so in last minute.

Indeed. The Flight was F2A0O0 and the day before went to F2A0O2, so they had two seats left and they made them available as awards. (I was already booked but was looking to get an idea of the cabin loadings).

Good value booking for December using screenshots:

SYD-BKK TG F
BKK-HND TG F
HND-FRA NH F
FRA-VIE OS J
VIE-IAS OS J

115k miles plus $184 USD taxes.

ANA currently wide open but only one seat on each flight.
Wasn’t sure if LM will approve this route since there was availability on the direct flight to FRA. The reason for going via HND was to maximise the experience by getting two long haul daytime flights with an overnight medium haul to get some sleep in between.
