Australian state border restrictions

So a loophole for any WA resident that wants to leave now??? But on the condition of 14 days quarantine on return. I know not most people's cup of tea, but a number said they were ok to do that.
A potential loophole, might work, but no way to be sure you'd get the G2G approval...

I don’t think so.
McGowan was mumbling and bumbling a lot but he seemed to indicate that this wouldn’t be a way for those to travel freely interstate and that they shouldn’t assume that a exemption would be granted for them
Yeah, by no means guaranteed. I've read completely contradictory advice from the WA Government Facebook account. Depends who is behind the keyboard at the time I guess

And I’m sure if the WA government gets a whiff of people abusing the system they will clamp down hard

Yeah. I also saw in a few places the border arrangements would be reviewed again in 3-4 weeks, after the east coast peak I suppose

Honestly he really needed an interpreter, at one point he actually spat… I know he has a mild speech impediment but clearly under the pressure of the spectacular back flip and all the non answers from the questioning it got worse and worse under the pressure. I think he was trying to be half pregnant to appease people, bury the announcement but it didn’t work.

It's interesting given how supportive the media have been up until now. They seem to have found some hard questions for him.

d then attempted to return to WA? Some might think it would, others that is is aimed only those who are currently stranded interstate.
I wonder if people who bought tickets to go interstate prior to the re-announcement, and then need to come back, might be given some grace.

I think that 'business travel' was explicitly ruled out

Thanks all for your responses, we await the next announcement from our fearless leader!

On a similar note, does anyone have any experience or tips in regard to entering WA under the international arrivals cap?

I understand there is a cap (about 250 a week), and that you need to complete the Australian Travel Declaration (largely a formality it seems for vaccinated citizens) and then seek approval / make a declaration (I've seen both, not sure which is more accurate) under the G2G, and then hope the airline doesn't bump your cheap-cough economy fair or cancel the flight altogether.

I guess my question is, who makes the final decision on whether you get on the flight under the arrivals cap? Is it the G2G app when you are approved and / or the airline when they are informed from WA State or Commonwealth regarding how many caps they have been allocated?

Any tips? Business class would be the first that comes to mind, but anything else? I guess whatever your reason for entering in the description of the G2G application should make some difference.

Maybe someone just pulls coloured balls out of a sorting hat...

Thanks

When does he admit defeat and just open up already? 500 per day, 2,000 per day, 6,000 per day. It'll be spun the usual way to reflect as positive, see family & friends, did our best, minimised risk and harm, etc, etc.

Well what's the marker or definition for extreme risk??? 500 per day on a 7-day rolling average.
